Is Thailand a third world country?
No, Thailand is not at all a third world country; in fact it has one of the rapidly growing economies in Asia. All western amenities and facilities are available here especially in the big cities and in the tourist spots.

Is Thailand safe?
Thailand is the safest country is Asia and safer than most of its western counterparts. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand is very safe and it is not a problem to travel alone even at midnight. Bribe the cops?

Is Thai street food good and hygienic?
Street food in Thailand is good and most of the times prepared with fresh ingredients. Make sure that the dishes you order are adequately heated and made in front of your eyes.

Do the Thais know English?
English is not very commonly known but the young generation is getting better at it. Students from universities are fluent in English. In tourist areas, the Thais speak little English.

Can I rent a room or dormitories for long periods of time?
