Thai Food

The delectable Thai cuisine has crossed the borders of Thailand and made its place known around the world. The balance of all give flavors (sweet, salty, bitter, spicy and sour) in their food might be the reason why most of the dished leaves people licking their finger after their meal. May be this uniqueness has also made Thai food well known and savored across the world. It would be wrong to think that Thai food is alike in every part of the country. Distinct flavors and tastes exist in the Northern, Central, North Eastern and Southern part of Thailand. As the southern part of Thailand is by the sea, coconut and sea foods are widely used ingredients in their cuisine. Thai dishes have quite resemblance to the Chinese food as many were introduced in this country by the Teochew people. Various types of herbs, spices and fish sauce are used in Thai cooking. As rice is the staple food like most Asian countries, Thai meals consists of it and various kinds of curries and fries. Noodles are also eaten in Thailand but as a single course meal. Pad Thai is a special dish of Thailand. Fork and spoon is used now days to have Thai food but before it was eaten mostly by hand. Khao Pad or fried rice is a very famous dish in Thailand made with various kinds of ingredients. Tom Yam soup known for its sour and hot taste is famous around the country. Thais are also into curries and some of the curries you will find in Thailand widely are Green Curry, Phanaeng Curry, Massaman Curry and Red Curry. Some of the famous deserts of Thailand are Kao niao ma muang, Ruam Mit, Kanom Tan and Lod Chong Nam ka Ti.
